Here are a few impressions from the exhibition “Vendanges Artistiques”, that took place in Machtum, Luxembourg, near the river Moselle. I was lucky enough to be part of the independent group of 9 artists, that were invited by Neckel Scholtus and her aunt Eliane Biltgen to fill house with art & life for 10 days. After this, the old house will be renovated. Up until lately however the house had been inhabited by a man called Manno – an Auschwitz survivor and known person from this wine region. For many village inhabitants this exhibition was a last farewell to the old man.
We were given free rein and each one of us filled a part of the house with our work: in-situ installations, drawings, photography and contemporary jewellery in dialogue with the house and the village of Machtum. Concrete, poetic and personal.
I showed my works from the “Onionaut” series, where banality meets the extraordinary.
